Sustainable Finance Officer (M/F/D)
Our client is a prominent financial institution operating within the European landscape. They are currently looking for a Sustainable Finance Officer to join their specialized teams. In this central role, you will actively advance the sustainable finance agenda and support the implementation of climate strategies across a broad range of financial activities. Working closely with senior management, you will gain broad organizational exposure by bridging the gap between evolving EU policies and practical, climate-aligned financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Support the rollout and performance of existing climate‑related financial products, and contribute to the design of new instruments targeting sustainability and climate objectives.
- Strategic Implementation: Drive the effective integration of climate strategies and principles across relevant business lines, ensuring clear communication and follow-up with the involved services.
- Sectoral Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis on specific topics, including cleantech, climate adaptation, critical raw materials, and the circular economy.
- Advisory & Regulatory Expertise: Act as the internal point of reference providing advice on the interpretation of eligibility criteria, internal policies, and the application of EU regulations.
- Harmonization: Help standardize eligibility criteria and climate‑related frameworks across all of the organization's financial products.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Share your expertise on green finance regulations and build strong networks with policymakers and industry stakeholders.
Your Profile:
- Experience: You have 3 to 6 years of recent, relevant experience in climate policy, sustainable finance product design, or related fields, ideally with exposure to complex projects or frameworks.
- Technical Expertise: You possess a deep understanding of the EU Sustainable Finance Framework and proven experience in structuring and designing green financial products. General knowledge of broader financial products is highly desirable.
- Analytical Skills: You have a strong ability to draft analytical internal position papers, translate regulatory requirements into operational guidance, and analyze large datasets under tight deadlines to produce clear executive summaries.
- Languages: Excellent command of English is required. Knowledge of other EU languages is a strong advantage.
- Tools: You are highly proficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint for business presentations and Excel for data analysis.
- Soft Skills: Proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented, you are capable of working autonomously under time pressure. You possess a strong team spirit, excellent cross-cultural communication skills, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
