Transaction Analyst – SME Lending & Data Analytics (Temporary Contract)
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Transaction Analyst for a temporary assignment with our client. Reporting to senior members of the Front Office Debt Products team, you will be instrumental in supporting the full lifecycle of portfolio guarantee transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in SME lending, credit risk, and advanced data analysis, capable of transforming complex data into actionable business intelligence.
Your Mission
Your primary goal will be to provide crucial support to the transaction teams. You will leverage your analytical skills to assess risks, manage data, and generate insights that drive strategic decision-making. This position requires adaptability, as you will contribute to a variety of projects and evolving priorities within a fast-paced financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Lifecycle Support: Actively contribute to the origination of portfolio guarantee transactions, including in-depth risk assessment, preparation for the approval process, execution, and post-signature performance monitoring.
Data Analytics & Tool Enhancement: Maintain and continuously improve data analytics frameworks and tools. You will be a key resource for the team in performing detailed data analysis, evaluating portfolio composition, and driving data management and automation initiatives.
Insight Generation: Analyze large datasets to identify significant trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing clear and concise insights that inform business strategy and operational decisions.
Process Improvement: Design and implement innovative, data-driven solutions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and overall team effectiveness.
Ad-Hoc Projects: Provide on-demand analytical support and contribute to special projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive problem-solving approach.
What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Competencies)
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in fields such as investment, credit risk analysis, financial guarantees, or data analytics within the financial sector.
Education: A university degree is required, preferably at a postgraduate level, in a relevant discipline like Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or a quantitative science.
Core Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in data analysis, specifically within the SME lending market, is essential.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with data analysis tools and software is a strong advantage. Experience with SQL, Python, R, and/or advanced Excel capabilities will be highly valued.
Analytical Mindset: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to interpret complex information and draw logical conclusions.
Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. Fluency in other EU languages would be a significant asset.
