Senior Project Manager – Steel Construction & Fabrication
One of our clients, is seeking a results-driven Senior Project Manager. You will join a high-performing project management department and take full ownership of complex industrial projects, ensuring their successful delivery from the rolling mill to the final site.
This is a key role where you will act as the central interface between customers, engineering teams, and production facilities, guaranteeing projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical specifications.
Your Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of allocated projects:
Project Analysis & Kick-off: Analyze technical and commercial documents, including customer drawings, engineering specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
End-to-End Project Management: Manage the entire project lifecycle, respecting key milestones, deadlines, technical requirements, and financial conditions.
Supply Chain & Procurement: Oversee the ordering of rolled steel sections from mills and manage the entire supply chain.
Subcontractor Coordination: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors responsible for fabrication, surface treatment, galvanization, and transportation logistics.
Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, manage change requests, and assess the financial, technical, and logistical impact of any modifications.
Internal Liaison: Act as the critical link between the customer, the steel mill, and fabrication shop stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
Financial Oversight: Guarantee complete order closure, including stock management, invoicing, payment tracking, and conducting financial order revisions.
Continuous Improvement & Quality: Proactively identify and solve potential problems, manage project claims in collaboration with the Quality Manager, and contribute to the continuous improvement of fabrication processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, or a similar function within an industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment.
Technical Background: An academic degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Steel Construction (or equivalent proven experience).
Industry Knowledge: Demonstrable experience in commercial order follow-up, project execution, and an understanding of industrial fabrication processes.
Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize workload effectively and a high degree of accuracy in your work.
Software Proficiency: Knowledge of an SAP-based order management system and strong skills in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Languages: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory.
Soft Skills: Excellent commercial acumen and communication skills. High energy, flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
Preferred Attributes:
Knowledge of French, Luxemburgish, or other European languages is a strong advantage.
Willingness to travel occasionally to visit customers, job sites, and subcontractors (less than 10%).
