Responsibilities
Manage, support and monitor the service and the overall performance of the transport to
our customers or external hubs by barge (using relevant KPIs)
Manage requests for quotations and feasibility received from Sales dept (clarify all details
for a clear RFQ – destination constraints, dates, volumes)
Close follow-up of orderbook to ensure availability of material on time for the realization of
delivery plan
Pro-active communication with sales department and customers when deviations
Work closely with subcontractors to monitor volumes against barge’s hubs capacities or
constraints (unloading, storage and loading capacities, the level of water).
Monitor and take decisions to limit impact of potential restrictions or problems
Continuously improve the process of shipments by Barges (new operators, new hubs,
markets studies, RFQs)
Follow the trend of cost for regular destinations to challenge the market
Manage claims coming from external activities performed by the hub or by barges
operators)
Control and validate logistics costs and invoices related to these activities
Requirements
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of transport or supply chain in a similar
industry
Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics
Good analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Team spirit is required
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good Excel knowledge - SAP-SD is an advantage
Language Skills: English & French is required – German and other languages are an
advantage
